The VERY good Mexican restaurant, Casa Negra in Shoreditch are running a series of competitions on Twitter to celebrate the life and death of Mexican icon Frida Kahlo!! Tweet us @CasaNegraLDN a picture of your monobrow (real or drawn on) using the #TGIFrida hashtag and win prizes at Casa Negra.
In Mexican culture, death is as much celebrated as life. Vibrant festivities such as those of Dia De Los Muertos (day of the dead) are dedicated to celebrating those who have passed and the lives they led.
With that said, Casa Negra is set to dedicate a whole week to celebrating the birth and death of one of Mexico’s most famous artists, the iconic Frida Kahlo. Known almost as widely for her impressive monobrow as her artwork, Frida has become a symbol of Mexico the world over.
So to say thanks for her amazing work and monobrow, Casa will be giving a whole week to say Thank God it’s Frida on Twitter over at @CasaNegraLDN.
You can get involved by tweeting a picture of your Monobrow (real or drawn on) using the #TGIFrida hashtag and in doing so, be entered into a one-off competition and be in with a chance of winning a Casa Negra related prize… From a ‘flight’ of expertly made house margaritas, through to Tamales delivered to your the office, Casa Negra will be dishing out three spot prizes a day to those with the best brow.
So grab the nearest marker pen, parcel tape or blu-tac and celebrate Frida with us…
