It's not going to happen quite yet but by 2015 the London tube will run 24 hours a day at weekends. Anyone who knows the pain of having to make sure you leave the party to catch the last train home will rejoice at this change in travel arrangements.
The underground lines included are Piccadilly, Victoria, Central, Jubilee and Northern lines which will begin from Friday morning and run straight through until Sunday night.
New York and Berlin already have these options so it's really high time London joined in.
During the night hours there will be a minimum of four trains per hour in the middle of the night - and once the first lines have begun the new timings the aim is to extend the 'Night Tube' to further lines, and possibly include Thursday nights - as we all know that Thursdays have been the new Fridays for years now.
