Formerly The Drop, The Waiting Room in Stoke Newington has been taken over by 586 Ltd, the team behind the Lock Tavern and the Shacklewell Arms, as is due to re-launch this weekend bringing a new 4am late opening to the area.
The Waiting Room is a 120 capacity basement venue, that once re-open will have a 4am licence and events and gigs each week.
You will find the Waiting Room Underneath The 3 Crowns, 175 Stoke Newington High Street, London N16 0LH.
To celebrate that launch in the first week there is an intimate gig by Gilles Peterson on Thursday 15th March, and the return of popular nights Endurance and Playhouse.
The venue has been given a brand new Martin Audio soundsystem (in line with sister venue, The Shacklewell Arms), and aesthetic modifications that include walls clad in scaffolding slates, and full-wall visual projections. However the much loved vintage tiling in the venue has been left just as it is.
This is all great and everything if only Stoke Newington would sort its travel issues out - Boris, this is shout out, give us a hand getting there yeah?
