It’s hot, it’s sweet, it’s crunchy and delicious and now it’s coming to London. From this September, JUBO will introduce Londoners to Korean Fried Chicken for the first time. JUBO (which refers to ‘Canteen’ in Korean) is launching its first restaurant at The Bedroom Bar in London’s Shoreditch.
With inspiration from K-Town in New York and Seoul in South Korea, the team behind JUBO has travelled the world for inspiration to develop this insanely tasty, crunchy chicken.
Serving top quality food in a relaxed bar setting, the menu features chicken wings and strips (boneless thighs), which have the crunchiest coating glazed in either soy garlic or hot sauce. Founder LK Foong commented, “we’ve worked hard to develop the ultimate fried chicken experience. These are tender and succulent pieces packed with crunch and flavour.”
Also on the menu are home-made kimchi, pickles, kimchi-slaw, and delicious steamed buns served with either melt in the mouth pork belly, slow braised beef or roasted portobello mushrooms. When it comes to drinks, JUBO will serve an array of chilled Soju (Korea’s national tipple) and Korean Hite beer – the perfect thirst quencher for fried chicken.
The street food style canteen is set to bring the Korean trend of ‘Anju’ (drinking food) to London town offering the tastiest Korean fried chicken into the early hours.
Foong said, “Great food doesn’t have to be just at the start of your evening, we’re here to serve great food to Londoners who are out and about on a night out, on their way home or here at the Bedroom bar to watch the comedy. Whatever stage of the night you’re at we’re here.”
JUBO will open its doors for the first time on 6th September 2013.
Tuesday-Thursday: 6pm – Midnight. Friday & Saturday: 7pm – 1am.
