Is it really trendy to float at the moment or something? Every bit of new building in London seems to have to be floating. Airports and now villages are moving onto the water.
The newest is a proposal for a floating village on the Thames. The BBC reported that Boris planned to make more of London Docks and proposed ’Floating homes, hotels and leisure facilities could be built on a 15-acre (six hectare) area of the Thames.’
Homes on the floating village look set to be a pretty sought after destination, the river views will of course be top notch and as for transport, there will be the Crossrail, DLR and the cable car to choose from, not to mention a boat.
Mr Johnson said: “This site is unique. It has the potential to become one of the most sought after addresses in the capital while breathing new life back into London’s waterways.
“But it’s not alone. Right across London there are incredible investment opportunities that I’m determined to bring to market creating more homes and jobs for Londoners.”
