Wilkinson has just revealed the next single to be taken from his forthcoming album Hypnotic, is We Will Be. It features up-and-coming British vocalist, Matt Wills. Of the track, Wilkinson says, "I'm always trying to tread the line of making records that work on the radio but also in the club, which is a pretty tricky balance to strike! But for me this one has that big anthemic vocal before it drops into something pretty naughty for the clubs and festivals. The subject matter of the vocal is really inspired by all the bollocks going on in the world and politics now. Its about re-uniting and standing up together." We Will Be is available to buy and stream now here.
Mark ‘Wilkinson’ returns to Summer 2016 with his new club banger - “What”.
‘What’, premiered as The Hottest Record In The World on BBC Radio 1, is being released by RAM Records, and is now making waves across the digital and club worlds, getting multiple rewinds from the D&B scene’s leading names.
‘What’ follows on from four Top 40 singles for Wilkinson, including his top-ten, smash single “Afterglow”, which saw worldwide success - selling 400,000 copies, with 50 Million Youtube views.
Hailed as one of the brightest stars in dance music, Wilkinson’s debut album Lazers Not Includedwent to Number 1 on the iTunes Dance Chart in ten different countries, and saw him consequently touring across the globe.
Now in 2016, Wilkinson is set to headline festival stages with his LIVE show at Wireless, Nass, Boardmasters, V Festival and Parklife, as well as numerous festival DJ dates and his own Ibiza residency at Together at Amnesia. Not set with this globe-trotting domination, Wilkinson also sold-out his own LIVE UK headline tour this Spring including his homecoming London show at The Forum, Kentish Town.
Having remixed and collaborated with the likes of Ed Sheeran, The Prodigy, Chase & Status, Naughty Boy, Wretch 32, Katy B & Laura Mvula, Wilkinson has previously scooped ‘Best Single’, ‘Best Album’, ‘Best Video’, ‘Best Producer’ and ‘Best Live Act' at the National Drum & Bass Awards, not to mention the VEVO Viewers Award at the MVA’s.
Mark ‘Wilkinson’ returns to the limelight with his sensational new cut “Flatline” - the first single from his second album, which features long-term collaborator and chart-topping rapper Wretch 32. Wilkinson and Wretch first collaborated back in 2014 on Wretch’s hit single “6 Words”, and having stayed in touch since, have propelled themselves back into the limelight.
Now returning to the fore-front of the music scene, Wilkinson’s latest single speaks volumes of UK talent, with lyricism discussing the power of potential, and the possessive nature of social media, and an ever-intelligent youth.
Speaking on the single Wilkinson states: “I wanted to do something different with this record. I wanted to keep it on a drum and bass tip but work with an artist to bridge the DNB and hip hop scenes in an interesting and distinctly British fashion. I'm into REAL rappers and personally for me, the finest lyricist in the UK is Wretch. He's a rappers rapper! His punchlines and delivery are incredible and I'm really happy with how the record turned out!"
The high-octane track once again proves that Wilkinson is one of the front-runners in the Drum and Bass scene, and follows on from four Top 40 singles including his Top-ten smash single “Afterglow”, which saw worldwide success - selling 400,000 copies, with 46 Million Youtube views.
