Homeslice Launch Second Restaurant at 52 Wells Street, Fitzrovia

Homeslice will be launching their second restaurant at 52 Wells Street, Fitzrovia on 1st September 2015. The official launch will be preceded by a 2-day soft launch with the restaurant offering 50% off pizza from 12pm - 11pm Saturday 29th August and 12pm - 6pm Sunday 30th August, which of course is worth of our WJ "Offers" page.

The Wells Street menu will maintain Homeslice’s original simplicity, offering a changing selection of 20” wood-fired pizzas available whole or by the slice, to eat in or takeaway, served alongside beer and prosecco on tap and wine by the magnum with the addition of a seasonal cocktail menu served from the bar. The second site will be a significant expansion on the Neal’s Yard space with a distinctive look and feel.

We hope to have created a relaxed, fun and social space that shares the best of our Neal’s Yard restaurant whilst offering Fitzrovia a unique Homeslice experience,” said co-owners Ry Jessup and Mark Wogan. “We’ve been surprised and delighted by how supportive our Neal’s Yard customers have been and we hope to have created a space and offering Fitzrovia’s locals and visitors will take to in the same way.”

There's a new brunch spot in town, hidden just behind Selfridges and offering cocktails and great midday dishes aplenty.

New York City’s famed restaurant and late-night spot Hotel Chantelle, has come to London this summer. Newly open this July, the London outpost boasts a spectacular central location on 23 Orchard Street (just off Oxford Street and adjacent to Selfridges) and is sure to bring fresh buzz to West London with its creative menu that marries upscale American dining with fun French fare in a relaxed and social setting.

The original restaurant, located in Manhattan’s Lower East Side, has garnered a loyal clientele of celebrity fans, including Katy Perry, Selena Gomez, Channing Tatum, Sophia Bush and Liam Hemsworth, among many more, with the draw of being not just a restaurant but a destination for sophisticated late nights too. Executive Chef Seth Levine, who has opened and curated some of New York’s most celebrated restaurants, is excited to elevate the brand here in London as he brings an exciting and unique menu that’s shaped with new American and fun French fare. Weaving together molecular gastronomy, comfort food and haute cuisine, Levine has drawn on his whimsical imagination and belief that fine dining should be fun, as inspirations for the new menu at Hotel Chantelle London.

With signature dinner items such as Waffle-Crusted Fried Chicken With Maple Syrup Cotton Candy and a Tuna Tartare Cigar served in a vintage glass ashtray, and brunch entrees like Frosted Flake-Encrusted Stuffed French Toast - guests can expect inventive presentations, unique food pairings and an innovative take on New York classics that will keep their experiences new and surprising time and time again.

Named after a World War II safe house and inspired by the design of the rooftop dining space in New York, Hotel Chantelle London will reflect a similar atmosphere, transporting guests from the bustling London streets, via Manhattan, to a Parisian garden oasis. Frosty white glass tiles make up the ceiling of the 2,500 square foot dining area, resembling a naturally sky lit setting much like the retractable roof at its flagship location. Park benches, lamppost lighting and draping floral greeneries encompass the restaurant, giving it a relaxed yet sophisticated vibe perfect for enjoying on any occasion.

In addition to this, acclaimed New York street artist Bradley Theodore will be creating several exclusive murals to appear throughout the late night hot spot. Often referred to as Jean Michel Basquiat meets Banksy, Bradley is best known for his skeletal doppelgangers of leading figures in the fashion industry (such as Karl Lagerfeld and Coco Chanel). Bradley has previously created pieces for Hotel Chantelle New York and will be adding a flash of style and colour with his Dia de Muertos-inspired installations in London. Enticing you into the restaurant., Hotel Chantelle have also commissioned New York artist Rachid Kallamni to adorn the staircase which takes you up to the entrance, with his signature, striking monochrome maze designs (a style he calls ‘mazism’) – completing the overall design and artistic feel to the restaurant’s décor.
