To complement their programme of world-class music, woodland-theatre, forest parties, talks and famed chef line-up, Wilderness have curated a tranquil realm of Wellbeing, a festival within a festival.

In their seventh year, Wilderness brings new talent and the most prestigious Wellbeing partners. Think masterclasses from eminent yoga leaders, workshops from renowned health experts and specially designed programmes from celebrated centres of excellence.

Nestled close to the soothing sounds of the emerald swimming lakes is The Sanctuary. A shanti space for winding down away from the bustle of festival life and exploring new practices. Whether it’s trying Hot Yoga for the first time with Fierce Grace, or getting balletic with Xtend Barre, or a luxurious therapy with Neal’s Yard Remedies The Sanctuary will provide something for what ails you.

The Sanctuary garden will become home to healers, yogis, and holistic practitioners from a broad range of backgrounds and will offer more traditional classes for Hatha, Slow Flow, VInyasa, and Ashtanga, with plenty of options for all skill levels.

Acclaimed therapists from Neals Yard Remedies will offer their signature facials, deep tissue, and aromatherapy massage, which will leave you revitalised and ready to explore the wonders of Wilderness.

New for 2017, Carl Faure, the founder of renowned school London yoga studio Stretch, and Rocket Yoga’s Marcus Veda will be offering classes specially catered to men who might feel afraid to give Yoga a try. Adam Husler, will be hosting a workshop that aims to shed light on ‘The Real Reason Men are Terrible at Yoga’.

Cate Miller, founder and owner of Xtend Barre London, is at the forefront of the Barre movement. Her world-famous workout combines dance, ballet and pilates. At Wilderness, Cate will bring the classic Xtend Barre technique to Cornbury Park for a workshop sure to get your heart racing.

Further exciting highlights include partnerships with exceptional institutions such as The Life Centre, Sangye Yoga School, The Special Yoga Centre and Oxford’s Inner Space, each offering a unique style and experience.

Those looking to explore something new can try their hand at styles less familiar, including Hip Hop Yoga with Julie Montagu, super energetic and dynamic flow yoga to the more legendary hip hop tracks, to get your heart racing.

Nine Lives will be offering Acro Yoga, a workshop that seamlessly blends acrobatics and yoga. The blissful lake will host Paddleboard Yoga. Friends of Wilderness and Internationally acclaimed dance company Rambert will impart wisdom on the formal approach to movement and flow with their Movement Workshop.

Settled on the banks of the lake, The Wilderness Lakeside Spa is set to return for 2017. The Lakeside Spa has inspired many imitators, and remains the most stunning spot to relaxing a wood-fired hot tub by the clearest of lakes.

Wilderness provides a rare opportunity to experience the joys of a thriving arts community in resplendent surroundings, whilst cultivating your inner self.

"Where else can you have a fabulous massage and wallow in a hot tub in a field while a rocking' great festival goes off in the background?"

WJ Meets .. Poté

Hi Poté, for those who aren’t familiar with you as an artist, describe yourself and your sound?

I’m someone who loves to experiment and learn new ways to express myself. Currently through co-directing my videos, comings up with artwork ideas, writing poetry/lyrics and more. My sound is a blend of cultures I pick up from wherever I go and listening to a range of music from all over the world, mixed with the love for African percussion and drums in general. Some call it electronica, which is as broad and undefined as it gets really. So I’ll just stick with electronica as well.

Who musically has influenced your sound?

A lot of artists over the years have influenced my sound, from James Blake, SBTRKT, Radiohead to Kanye West, Kojey Radical and Jimmy Edgar. It’s usually about finding little things you love about what people do, adapting and play around with it until you make it your own, then build and build.

Talk us through your writing process from start to finish?

My writing process really differs every couple of months depending on influences I’m picking up and learning from people. Some tracks start with just a word or poem and builds from the feeling I get from them, like Red Moon. Other start with just a drum loop, like Katz.

I usually write all on my own. On some tracks like Fall for example, I’d write the entire beat and some lyric ideas out, then have a session with another artist to help finish the track if it needs it.

Is there anyone in the UK you’d love to work with?

Without a doubt, Wretch 32. I’ve got some tracks I think he’d honestly really like. He’s one of those people I’d just like to play music to and chat about whatever, not necessarily work on anything.

How does the studio compare to live performances?

Studio life is a lot more relaxed and free flowing for me, I love them both but my favorite thing in the world is writing a new track that I‘m really happy with. For that period in time, you’re the only one that’s ever heard it, It’s a great feeling. Live is really exciting though, a completely different energy to writing music in a studio, giving tracks a new life.

You’ve been heavily championed on Radio 1, how does it feel to be supported by names like Annie Mac, Huw Stephens, Toddla T, MistaJam and more?

Honestly, very honoured. I have nothing but love for these guys, they are bombarded with music on a daily basis and for them to not just play it once, but on a weekly basis is humbling. I feel a lot of love for them, and everyone else supporting whatever I do.

What would you like people to take away from your music?

Enjoyment mainly, but also there’s a deeper level to things. Co-directing my videos and coming up with my artwork allows me room to convey that deeper side to the music, there are going to be many different things I want people to take away in future, but for Over the Water the main message is to believe in yourself and be unapologetically you.

What’s the plan for the rest of the year?

I’ve got my follow-up EP to Over the Water coming out later on this year, which features a lot more of my own voice, as well as Kojey Radical and Carmody.

And a few live shows, which I’m really excited about, and some video/artwork ideas for the follow up EP that I can’t wait to begin working on."

Now this is exciting .. if you haven't heard of the young producer Poté and his incredible base-heavy sound, then you're certainly in for a treat today.

Releasing his new single "Katz", from his forthcoming EP 'Over The Water', the imaginative lyric video is full of colour and intricate designs.

The young talent originating from the Caribbean, has garnered support from BBC R1 presenters Annie Mac, Toddla T, MistaJam and more with his unique sound. Taking inspiration from afrobeats and combining deep electric synths, it's safe to say Poté is becoming one of the UK's most exciting producers.

snowbombing1

It's not all over after Christmas, there's still SNOWBOMBING to look forward to. And to get you excited for that often sparse part of the year they have just announced their second wave of  2016 acts to include Bastille, Craig David’s TS5, Jamie Jones and many more join the bill.

Joining The ProdigyJungle and Netsky on the live side - who’s last album, Bad Blood became the most downloaded album of 2013 - are Brit-award winning indie-pop maestros Bastille who will be headlining the legendary Forest Party on the Thursday.

Said lead singer Dan Smith: “We can't wait to head to the mountains for Snowbombing 2016. The lineup looks great and it's a festival we've always wanted to go to. “Playing a gig and hanging out in the Alps... it’s going to be awesome!”

Boosting the already phenomenal DJ line-up and taking the party scene by storm is platinum album-selling Craig David! Fifteen years on from his debut album ‘Born to Do It’, the UK Garage hero has been making waves on the dance scene once again, with his weekly TS5 radio show on Capital Xtra, a knock-out carnival show performing alongside Skrillex and Sean Paul, not to mention a much-talked about appearance on Kurupt FM where he laid down an outstanding a cappella of Fill Me In over Jack Ü’s Where Are Ü Now. Joining him at the top of the DJ bill is Hot Creations label head and Paradise founder Jamie Jones plus multi-platinum selling producer and all-round legend Mark Ronson DJ, who’s Uptown Funk single and Uptown Special album saw him score his first UK charts number 1 double in 2015. The multitalented musician, singer, songwriter and producer will make a welcoming return to Snowbombing 2016 for a much-anticipated DJ set.

Also hitting the bill is German ‘Super House’ duo Andhim, house experimentalist Andrea Oliva, Mobilee Records boss Anja Schneider, house & techno rebel Danny Daze and American duo The Martinez Brothers who have held a hugely successful residency at DC-10 in Ibiza since 2011.

Other acts joining the mix is home-grown hero Jackmaster famous for spreading unashamedly full-on party sounds to dance floors all over the world, Grammy nominated Nic Fanciulli, French electronica inspiration Rodriguez Jr. and Berlin house veteran Sebo K.

Representing from BBC Radio 1 is hip-hop and grime master MistaJam and renowned DJ, producer and remixer B-Traits.

Heading back to Snowbombing for his second stint behind the decks is superstar of sound and screen, the irrepressible Mr. Idris Elba who proved to be a smash at last year’s festival.

With many, many more acts and attractions just added to the bill and still more to be announced 2016 is shaping up to be the greatest Snowbombing of all time!

Nestled in a breath-taking alpine setting with snow-capped vistas to die for, Snowbombing which this year takes place between 4–9 April 2016, boasts the most awe-inspiring festival venues in the world from a mountaintop igloo 6,000 feet above sea level to enchanted forest clearings, cosy alpine lodges and atmospheric medieval barns not to mention the plethora of bars, clubs, dives and speakeasys. Last year saw the reintroduction of the legendary Bruck N Stadl, a traditional Austrian wooden ‘haus’ equipped with an enormous Funktion-One sound-system that in its time has hosted the very cream of the house and techno scene.

In celebration of the SB16 launch, the now legendary annual Snowbombing Party Series has also kicked off its tour of the UK and Europe’s most esteemed nightspots. Each weekend a city will come alive with a Snowbombing club show featuring some of the biggest names in the music industry including Basement Jaxx2 ManyDJs, Jackmaster and more.
