Fat Tuesday – Vodka Masterclass with Vestal’s William Borrell

Also known as Shrove Day or Mardi Gras Day, Fat Tuesday is a traditional day of indulgence ahead of Lent. Samarkand invite you to join them for an evening of libatious hedonism and to discover new vodkas hitting the UK this year.

The Vestal Vodka masterclass will be hosted by founder and owner William Borrell who will open the evening with the history of vodka and the brand. A Vestal sharpener will get taste buds flowing, followed by a look at the new premium vodka range. Samarkand have designed a dedicated Vestal Vodka menu for the evening for only £6.50 per cocktail.

For that little something extra on Fat Tuesday, Samarkand’s kitchen will be treating guests to servings of the on-trend ‘paczki’ (polish donuts) that have foodies queuing around the block from bakeries in the States.

For those who would like to extend their stay after the class, guests can continue their gastronomic journey in the restaurant or sample the new signature cocktails in the stunning Silk Road bar.

More events to announced in the coming weeks. Book your place on one of these cocktail adventures online (www.samarkand.london) or by phone at 020 3871 4969.

The artisan-inspired doughnut is individually filled with the nation’s favourite hazelnut spread, NUTELLA® and dipped in rich chocolate icing and exquisitely decorated with a white chocolate swirl and caramelized hazelnuts.

To celebrate the launch of the new offering, Krispy Kreme is set to introduce ‘Hole in the Wall’– the ultimate pop up that offers Krispy Kreme and NUTELLA® fans an exclusive opportunity to taste the limited edition doughnut in a mini magical experience before it goes on sale nationwide.

Launching from Monday 9th May 2016, Hole in the Wall will be popping up in Krispy Kreme’s London, Holborn store and will give the public the chance to unlock a doughnut shaped hatch as they discover the magical secrets behind Krispy Kreme’s Nutty Chocolatta creation. Once the doughnut hatch is unlocked, guests will be presented with their very own limited edition Krispy Kreme branded box containing the new Nutty Chocolatta doughnut.

Krispy Kreme’s Chief Marketing Officer, Judith Denby says “We are excited to launch the unique Hole in the Wall pop-up that goes back to the roots of Krispy Kreme’s history. We hope fans enjoy eating the new Nutty Chocolatta doughnut as much as we have enjoyed making it.”

The wacky ‘Willy Wonka-esque’ experience costs £2.00 and all profits will go to Krispy Kreme’s supported charity, Teenage Cancer Trust. The pop up will be open for two weeks only, from 08:00 – 20:00 every day and the doughnut shaped hatch will disappear on Saturday 21st May 2016.

Made fresh daily, the limited edition Nutty Chocolatta doughnut will be available from all UK Krispy Kreme stores and cabinets from Friday 27th May – Sunday 4th September 2016.

free Krispy KremesJust launched, Krispy Kremes is taking us back to the good old days when they first turned up in Harrods. Brands were not quite so savvy about the 'give away some freebies' promotion back then and the newly installed Krispy Kreme counter would offer a free doughnut to anyone that told them they had never had one - suffice to say we tried our 'first' Krispy Kreme several times over.

But now they are back at it and offering out a whopping 1,500 free doughnuts every day this week. Grab your free doughnut by heading to  Voucher Codes , printing out your voucher, and handing it in.

It's worth mentioning that vouchers are not valid in Tescos and Service Stations.

There are still 1000 left for today so go grab one.

New Dum Dum Doughnuts are selling out daily so if you want some you better get down before 5!

Doughnut lovers from across the globe gathered outside Dum Dum Doughnuts on Monday ahead of the brand’s hotly anticipated Box Park launch.

As doors opened at 8am, hoards scrambled to get their hands on a Dum Dum Doughnut before sell-out (just 5 HOURS after trading) with 5000 Dum Dum's flying off the counter in the 3 days since opening.

Demand for the BRITISH artisan brand, set to rival Dominique Ansel’s New York Cronut Craze, has not been exclusive to the Shoreditch store. Pre-orders have been unprecedented, with Dum Dum’s website crashing for 12 hours due to demand for the brand’s online pre-ordering service.

Freshly baked, (NOT FRIED) handmade and significantly lower in fat, Dum Dum Doughnuts are the exquisite hand-baked doughnuts with a celebrity fanbase including Tom Daley and Peter Andre. Alongside his team of professional artisan Donuttiers, Artisan Chef Paul Hurley- the brains behind the world’s first EVER Donutterie- makes each doughnut fresh daily at his patisserie in South England. Amongst his selection, hand baked using a traditional yet patented baking method, is the world-famous Dum Dum Cronut, as well as the Baked Croissant Doughnut; a creation EXCLUSIVE to Dum Dums.

Irresistible in taste, the doughnuts offer nutritional benefits compared to their American counterparts, with ONLY 6 grams of fat* compared to the usual 17 grams of fat in a classic American jam donut.
