BALENCIAGA x Sam Smith in Creative Collaboration

BALENCIAGA and Sam Smith are pleased to announce a creative collaboration for the BALENCIAGA Men's Fall-Winter 2015 Campaign. This is the first time the renowned singer and songwriter Sam Smith has been featured in a major men's campaign. The star of an evocative series of black-and-white photographs and a full length video both shot by Josh Olins, Sam Smith is presented in a mysterious light, relying on movement and mood to convey emotion.

Sam Smith wears iconic looks from the BALENCIAGA Fall-Winter 2015 collection, which takes inspiration from the purity of forms found in Nature to create an austere and timeless aesthetic. Through his expressive character, Sam Smith animates the modern shapes of BALENCIAGA from within.

Says BALENCIAGA Creative Director Alexander Wang: "Beyond his tremendous talent, Sam Smith conveys a quiet elegance and a subtle sensuality that are perfect for BALENCIAGA. He represents both sensitivity and power – the dualities of the Balenciaga man."

Says Sam Smith: "I am absolutely honoured to have been chosen to be the face of Balenciaga. I have been a devoted fan of the brand for a while now. I love how intimate it feels, and how involved Alexander has been and is with the brand. I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd be wearing these clothes let alone modelling them. So this is a dream come true, and I hope the beginning of a lovely long relationship with Alexander and the House."

Shot at Centrestage Studios in London, the debut images from the BALENCIAGA Men's FW15 campaign break in international publications beginning in August 2015 and on www.balenciaga.com. The BALENCIAGA Men's FW15 full-length video and imagery can be viewed on www.balenciaga.com and via #balxsamsmith.

Wrangler X Leatherman 1Two legendary American brands, Wrangler and Leatherman, have joined forces in celebration of some of their most iconic products. The collaboration sees Wrangler’s signature Texas style, reworked for the first time, to be twice as strong as regular jeans and water resistant, alongside special editions of two Leatherman’s tools - both in a beautiful antique copper finish to match the famous Wrangler jean rivets.

To launch the partnership, Wrangler has teamed up with three inspirational figures that embody the adventurous spirit at the heart of these two brands; Paul Steele founder of leading travel blog The Bald Hiker, influential lifestyle photographer Dan Rubin and motorcycle enthusiast, mechanic and presenter Jens Kuck. Each has created a short film charting their everyday adventures, designed to inspire others to get out and experience adventures of their own.

Everyday Adventures #1 – The Journeyman

Dan Rubin kicks off the series with a snapshot of his life as one of the world’s leading photographers. He reveals his relationship with his craft and love of vintage cameras as he journeys through the streets of London looking to capture the perfect shot. “Photography helps me shape the way I see the world, it’s my voice. I’m really passionate about film photography, especially vintage cameras, as I like working with things that perform well and are built to last. When you are travelling the world shooting on cameras older than you are you need the right tools, I have had my Leatherman since I was a boy and wouldn’t be without it’.

Everyday Adventures #2 – The Adventurer

Bald Hiker founder Paul Steele reveals his drive to experience the freedom of the great outdoors and how everyone can enjoy hiking. “I want to inspire people to get out there and experience the beauty that is often on their doorstep. People shouldn’t be intimated by the great outdoors, all you need is a good jacket, a decent pair boots and jeans, and a compact tool that slips into your pocket.  You never know what the journey can bring so wearing something that’s reliable can make all the difference. Where I live, bright sunshine can quickly turn to rain, but that’s all part of the adventure’.

Everyday Adventures #3 – The Worker

Motorcycle enthusiast, mechanic and presenter Jens Kuck opens the doors to his workshop where he customises and builds bikes; unaided, by hand and from scratch. He reveals his love of the craft, which sees him create these great machines in order to enjoy the freedom and exhilaration of the open road.

Reinforced front pockets feature a bespoke pouch for the Wrangler edition of Leatherman’s one-piece Piranha 2 tool.

·     The Piranha 2 is perfect for on-the-road adventures. Made from a single piece of heat-treated steel, it’s a quick fix for loose screws and bolts or for popping open a bottle of suds.

·     The Wrangler edition of Leatherman’s Rebar is an update on original Personal Survival Tool (PST) that was first launched in 1983.  This is a palm-friendly tool that includes pliers, screwdrivers and even a saw.

Puma collab

A true renaissance woman and quintessential New York ‘It’ girl, Vashtie Kola has definitely proven herself as a force to be reckoned with. Making a name for herself as a multi-talented DJ, designer, filmmaker, artist, culture curator and trendsetter, she symbolises the intersection of drive, talent and culture whilst cultivating the Downtown New York City scene for over a decade as a true style icon with worldwide influence.

Strengthening the notion of New York as a mecca for nurturing and fostering creative minds, PUMA has partnered with Vashtie on their debut SS15 collaboration collection, underpinning PUMA’s past connections with the city at the dawn of the break dance scene through iconic silhouettes such as the PUMA States which have been ever-present on the streets of New York when they were first embraced by emerging subcultures.

A fusion of cues from the era blended with her own 80’s and 90’s ‘club culture’ inspired style, the collection pays homage to the integral role PUMA has played in inspiring Vashtie’s creativity.

Pulling on her style from the urban music and lifestyle scene, the collaboration takes a trip down memory lane to the dawn of B Boy culture presenting key, very classic styles such as Suedes and T7’s which have been reworked in fresh new materials to sit alongside a range of ready to wear unisex separates in a fierce, luxed-up black, gold and burgundy colour palette.
