Wether it's New Year or Christmas that you want to celebrate we're suggesting you do it at home this year. It makes the most sense and with the amazing selection of people around to help you in London you'll have the best time.

Firstly you'll need music, Sony has a great selection of speakers for the occasion to suit any size flat or house. From the small portable SRS-X11 to the MHC-V7D, there is a speaker to suit any sized party.

If you really want to go all out splash some cash or maybe group together with your housemates then you want the MHC-V7D

The best parties need a big sound system. The MHC-V7D delivers soul-shaking bass from a vertical, space-saving box design. Throw club-style illuminations on your ceiling or wall and use fun and easy gesture control to turn up the volume, skip the next track and experiment with DJ effects. Once that's started you'll need something to toast your visitors. Premier Estates Wine have just launched their Prosecco Mini’s, only £2.99 a bottle from local corner shops or £60 online for a case of 24 – these are very cute and can be drunk with just a straw or given out individually with glasses. They are a lovely light bubbly option to start your night.

Alternatively or additionally the Prosecco could be used to make these sparkling jelly shots! http://bit.ly/1OwOy8A.

Then you'll need food - we're going to say go festive. Get a festive doughnut delivery from DumDum Doughnuts in Shoreditch . Snow man doughnuts, angry reindeer doughnuts and more! All with custard fillings or chocolately custard fillings and all delicious!

You can either be smug and pretend you made them yourself, or you could be smug that you did know baking and were clever enough to find such cool party food.

Now we're really getting the party started it's time to bring out the Ice Luge from Ice Box.

There are a number of designs from The Ice Box and if you send a logo or some text this can be included on the base of the luge! They start at around £140 and really bring a party together. Also, they may be called vodka luges but you can pour any chosen drink through - Bailey's works particularly well.

In a lovely festive spirited addition The Ice Box has offered WJ readers a 10% discount with the code WJVL16, it's valid until 31.03.16 so get your luge on.

Once you've had a few drinks why not get a little creative?

Sharpie and Paper Mate have a great range of colourful pens to customise your Christmas. They write on everything and anything - you can personalize your own baubles, bunting, Christmas decorations and even Wine glasses! Paper Mate now have erasable gel pens, gone are the Christmas card typo days!

Zing Zing are always on our list come Easter time for their Cadbury Creme Egg wontons but this year they've come out with Christmas Dinner Wontons - we're not sure which win as both are amazing.

If you want a little taste of Christmas crossed with a bit of Chinese, before Christmas is truly upon us then you need to get yourself ordering some. Filled with a Christmas Dinner style sausage meat stuffing and a cranberry sauce dip the wontons are a brilliant little taste of the festive season.

Zing Zing also have melted Lindor wontons at the moment and you can grab some on your order free with the code LINDOMG. These are equally wonderful though be careful eating them, they are fully melted in there. 10160149

So - if you're not feeling like you've started to overdo it on the festive foods yet these need to be in your firing line.

Taking Christmas anticipation to a whole new level, on 1st December 2015, Bermondsey-based restaurant and bar Village East will launch London’s first in-restaurant advent calendar. Handed out every day until 23rd December, gourmet prizes will include breakfast at Village East, dinner at The Riding House Café, a gift box from locally produced Jensen’s Gin, tickets to the Design Museum with dinner for two at Blueprint Café, a magnum of Prosecco and a cocktail marathon to be enjoyed with friends.

How it Works

All dinner guests will need to do, to be in with a chance of winning an advent treat, is to fill out the form issued with the menu upon arrival, then wait for the daily December 9pm draw. Once the lucky winner is announced, one of the Village East team will grab that day’s red or green envelope hanging from the restaurants giant wall of advent, and hand it over to be ripped open with glee.

To get sneak peak of the prizes on offer, follow Village East on Twitter and Instagram @VillageEastSE1 for full details of each day’s prize. If the surprise is half the fun, simply book a table for dinner at Village East throughout December.

Prizes Galore

What else is there to win? Not only will Village East be giving away multiple meals, beer flights, cocktail marathons and bottles in their own restaurant – they have also called upon their friends and neighbours to donate too. Look out for guest prizes from Fatties Bakery, Jensen’s Gin, Design Museum and Blueprint Café, local breweries The Kernel and Anspatch & Hobday, O Shea’s butchers and sister restaurant, Riding House Café.

BIRD, the free-range and fried chicken specialists, has added a new seasonal special to its signature burger menu, which incorporates all of the components of a Christmas dinner into a burger.

Available from November 17th to January 3rd, the ‘Christmas dinner in a burger’ is a towering tribute to the festive season, consisting of cranberry-glazed crispy-fried chicken, layered with sage and onion stuffing, and panko-crusted fried brie. The Christmas delight will be topped with a bacon-wrapped jalapeno popper - a spicy alternative to pigs in blankets – and accompanied with a crunchy side portion of freshly-made parsnip crisps.

BIRD specialises in cooking fried chicken with a strong focus on quality, freshness and provenance – a formula that has proven popular amongst Londoners since it first launched in Shoreditch last year and more recently, it’s second site in Islington last month.

The ‘Christmas dinner in a burger’ is available at both BIRD Shoreditch and BIRD Islington.
