Quality fried chicken restaurant to open in Islington in October, with Camden following in November

unnamed

Free Range & Fried chicken specialist, BIRD, is building on the success of its Shoreditch branch and launching two new restaurants this autumn. BIRD Islington will open its doors on the 8th of October, closely followed by a third site opening in Camden in November.

A world away from the chicken shops commonly seen on the British high street, BIRD’s focus on quality, freshness and provenance has elevated fried chicken in London since its opening on Kingsland Road last year.

Respectfully restoring a beautiful abandoned corner pub, the unique Islington venue will see BIRD’s ‘naughty but nice’ ethos continue through its food & drink offering as well as it’s fresh and thoughtful approach to design, a combination which has made it so popular with East Londoners.

With a new menu tailored around its trademark free-range - and gluten-free - fried chicken and house-made sauces, there will be a strong focus on fried chicken burgers with several new additions, including:

The Gee Gee – a Korean inspired burger made with crispy fried chicken, sweet & spicy gochujang glaze and house-made kimchi slaw

The Nashville Hot – fried chicken coated with extra hot cayenne glaze, melted American cheese, house kewpie mayo and pickles

The West Coast – a nod to California with crispy fried chicken, fresh guacamole and pickled jalapenos

Firm favorites from Shoreditch such as crispy glazed wings and chicken, the ever-popular Original Waffle Burger and sides like  the jalapeno corn pudding, will round out the menu.

BIRD’s famous Doughnut Hatch will also be making an appearance in Islington, offering fresh risen glazed doughnuts made daily in-house, with rotating flavors such as peanut butter glaze or Oreo crunch. Diners can grab doughnuts to take away from the Hatch all day (with £1 coffee), or sit down inside to enjoy from the dessert menu as the popular ice cream doughnut sandwich. The Doughnut Hatch will also double as a takeaway window for BIRD during busy football match days.

To wash it all down, BIRD has partnered with Camden Town Brewery to offer a selection of draft beers that complement the restaurant’s extensive selection of craft cans and bottles. Those after something a bit stronger can enjoy BIRD classics such as the Dirtybird or Passionfruit Margarita, and new cocktails including the Watermelon Soju, made with the popular Korean spirit.  BIRD Islington will officially open on the 8th of October at 81 Holloway Road N7 8LT.

During its soft-launch, BIRD Islington will be offering 50% off food from the 1st October to 8th of October.

BIRD Camden will open in November with more information on the site released closer to the date.

New York City’s famed restaurant and late-night spot Hotel Chantelle, is excited to announce the launch of Hotel Chanetelle London this summer.  Opening this July, the London outpost boasts a spectacular central location on 23 Orchard Street (just off Oxford Street and adjacent to Selfridges) and is sure to bring fresh buzz to West London with its creative menu that marries upscale American dining with fun French fare in a relaxed and social setting.

The original restaurant, located in Manhattan’s Lower East Side, has garnered a loyal clientele of celebrity fans, including Katy Perry, Channing Tatum, Sophia Bush and Liam Hemsworth, among many more, with the draw of being not just a restaurant but a destination for sophisticated late nights too. Executive Chef Seth Levine is excited to elevate the brand here in London as he brings an exciting and unique menu that’s shaped with new American and fun French fare. Weaving together molecular gastronomy, comfort food and haute cuisine, Levine has drawn on his whimsical imagination and belief that fine dining should be fun, as inspirations for the new menu at Hotel Chantelle London.

With signature dinner items such as Waffle-Crusted Fried Chicken With Maple Syrup Cotton Candy and a Tuna Tartare Cigar served in a vintage glass ashtray, and brunch entrees like Frosted Flake-Encrusted Stuffed French Toast - guests can expect inventive presentations, unique food pairings and an innovative take on New York classics that will keep their experiences new and surprising time and time again.

Named after a World War II safe house and inspired by the design of the rooftop dining space in New York, Hotel Chantelle London will reflect a similar atmosphere, transporting guests from the bustling London streets, via Manhattan, to a Parisian garden oasis. Frosty white glass tiles make up the ceiling of the 2,500 square foot dining area, resembling a naturally sky lit setting much like the retractable roof at its flagship location. Park benches, lamppost lighting and draping floral greeneries encompass the restaurant, giving it a relaxed yet sophisticated vibe perfect for enjoying on any occasion. With 100 seats, guests can escape to this upstairs terrace retreat whether enjoying brunch with friends, an afternoon tea or dinner with friends on any given night.

This dining-meets-nightlife destination will be open seven days a week serving lunch and dinner from 11.30AM-11:00PM Monday-Sunday.  Late night dining will be available between Thursday and Saturday until 3AM, and weekend brunch will be offered on Saturdays and Sundays from 11AM-4PM.
