Those with an ambition to turn heads next summer should turn their attention to the Ccuoco SS16 collection. With skin-tight suede, deep jewel tones and sheer detailing to be found in every direction, designer Candice Cuoco knows how to dress every woman to accentuate every curve... and seduce every mind.
Panelled chiffon floor-length dresses featured piped seams in contrasting prints and ruffles, leather trousers were studded or offered onlookers the chance to see a little more skin via sheer panelling... and there also happened to be a mid-catwalk kiss. This was a show for the empowered, modern woman, seeking to find her next wardrobe wants for a long hot summer of cocktail events and steamy club nights.
From the rich colour palette of burgundy, black, navy, beige and metallics, to the stark, structured necklines, and a more than generous dose of crop tops twinned with highwaisted knee length skirts, 90’s influences were in abundance, however the overall feel of the collection managed to remain contemporary. Cuoco’s specialism in leather was also more than apparent not only in its bountiful inclusion, but also in the fact that every daring dress, skirt or top was so perfectly tailored to fit each model’s form.
Pure, unadulterated decadence continued with jewel encrusted belts, while femininity poured out of pleating and peplum silhouettes. Pieces managed to bridge the gap between beauty and edge, some benefiting from a juxtaposition between fabrics such as a solid, tight leather overcoat that featured a flouncy sheer cape over the top of the arms and back.
With a plethora of curve enhancing dresses and the words ‘intellectually fashionable’ found in its ethos, this is the go-to brand for women who know what they want, and know how to get it.
