Following on from Uncle Barts Grand refurb, Barts will be in full bloom for this year’s Chelsea Flower Show, which will take place from 20th – 24th May 2014.

Located a stone’s throw from the world’s most famous flower show, Barts secret speakeasy bar is the ideal place for drinks after any visit to the exhibition. Talented bar manager Vincenzo Sibilia has created an exquisite cocktail in homage to the show, ‘The Chinese Lantern, a heady blend of home-made Hibiscus flower and Rose jam infused Tanqueray Malacca, apple juice, lime juice, egg white and sugar syrup. The cocktail will then be served in the perfect summer garden accessory, a giant, glowing – that’s right, you guessed it- Chinese Lantern, filled with Violet Essence.

Barts is renowned for its fancy dress box and for the duration of the show the box will be themed along the lines of ‘Blooming Marvelous’. Guests will be able to indulge their love of ‘Flower Power’ by delving into the box of delights and find anything from ultimate hippy flares to wings and flowers worn by flower fairies.

Just in the time for the Chelsea show, Barts will also be re-opening its very own Cuban garden where guests can sip their drinks surrounded by lush foliage and exotic plants.

Barts was opened five years ago and is London’s first 'speakeasy' style bar located on the prestigious Sloane Avenue. It is the brainchild of Duncan Stirling and Charlie Gilkes, the dynamic duo that own the Inception Group that also comprises of the highly successful 80’s themed nightclub, Maggie’s and an Englishman's Italian, Bar, Pizzeria and Karaoke, Bunga Bunga in Battersea. This summer they will also be launching Mr Fogg’s in Mayfair, a recreation of the actual home of Jules Verne’s most famous adventurer, Phileas Fogg, as well as a Disco, an underground boîte in Soho, inspired by the disco movement, which started in 1970s Manhattan. This summer they will launch Cocobananas, a nightclub based on a Brazilian beach party and Beaver Lodge, a cabin bar and dance saloon based on the winter cowboy log cabins found in Wyoming.

Barts will be the pick of the bunch for this year’s Chelsea Flower Show.

BARTS

20th -24th MAY 2014

Screen shot 2014-01-14 at 14.12.20Uncle Barts, being the sneaky moonshiner that he is, has created a new way of smuggling in his booze 'under the noses of the caaps' with the launch of his new ‘Uncle Barts gets pickled’ menu of Vinegar infused cocktails at Barts.

Not content with the current strength of the infamous Barts cocktails in cups, he has decided that he shall now offer guests an extra kick to their cocktail, by adding some home made and fermented juis de Vin to the mix...

The menu will comprise of three top tipples:

For the ladies of the manor, there will be the ‘Queen of Tarts’, a tangy Martini made with Belvedere vodka, strawberries, home-made balsamic jam, lemon juice and sugar, that will then be garnished with a caramelized strawberry and balsamic glaze.

For the traditional chappy, with a stiff upper lip there will be the ’Twelve Years’, a twist on the classic Old fashioned, made with Woodford Reserve, infused with cooked apple and Balsamic Vinegar, and mixed with a cube of sugar and home-made apple bitters.

Then lastly, for those looking to get their pre lent chocolate fix, there will be the "Mon Cheri" (in homage to the famous Ferrero chocolate). Made with chocolate and cherry infused apple vinegar, and stirred with Grand Marnier and Pampero Añejo, the Mon Cheri, will be a deliciously sweet Martini style cocktail, garnished with chocolate sprig, of course.

Barts is a quirky 'speak easy' style bar on prestigious Sloane Avenue in the heart of Chelsea. It is the brainchild of Duncan Stirling and Charlie Gilkes, the dynamic duo who also own the highly successful 80’s themed nightclub, Maggie’s and an Englishman's Italian, Bar, Pizzeria and Karaoke, Bunga Bunga in Battersea. And, more recently, have opened, Mr Fogg’s in Mayfair, a recreation of the actual home of Jules Verne’s most famous adventurer, Phileas Fogg, and Disco, an underground boîte in Soho, inspired by the disco movement, which started in 1970s Manhattan.

So for a night of In Vino Veritas – Vinegar style, head on down to Barts... but shhh, it’s a secret!

Expect a heap load of hops, Steins brimming with Barts special brew, Jagermeister tastings and some traditional toe tapping tunes (German drinking songs), played by host of the evening, Accordian Karlotte. There may even be a selection of beer serving hop hotties in ‘traditional’ Bavarian dresses of course, and, Lederhosen and Bavarian drinking hats for all – courtesy of Barts longest standing member – the infamous fancy dress box.

Chef Clause will then be running the outside Bratwurst Grill, whilst Aunty Barts sets up a cosy little facepainting corner inside.

Guests that arrive before 9pm can also enjoy Barts steaming Stein and Bratwurst combo, for just £10 – who ever said old Uncle Bart doesn’t look after you eh.
