M.O-EP-PS

Transporting you back a decade of sexy 90's R&B, London trio M.O release their track "Good Friends", produced by Bless Beats and a new EP of the same name.

Following the announcement of their deal with Polydor Records, the urge for an R&B girl group in the UK with a street edge is definitely needed. With it's production on point, and fierce vocals, this nostalgic jam is bringing 90's energy with a fresh 2016 sound.

bouholljpg-739471717bfcbd5510bcfb78e9251427Stop, collaborate and listen, B&H is back with a brand new invention. Launching on Friday 22nd May in East London, Playback: The 90s Party is a weekend of parties that will recreate the distinctive sounds, looks and tastes of the 1990s.

Rewinding the years to a decade that all of us know and some of us can just remember, Playback: The 90s Party gives creds to the fashion, music and films that made a generation and has now inspired London’s most recent copycat trends. With special guest performances and curated live music, this party will present the true sounds of the decade, while setting the scene with the coolest 90s inspired drinks, décor, and fashions.

For the weekend, an East London warehouse will be transformed into the ultimate 90s party venue, with a style and atmosphere reminiscent of something in between The Viper Room, Ministry Of Sound, and Supernova Heights. Featuring two large party spaces, the warehouse will be decked out with a games room inspired by the era of the Nintendo, dance podiums fit for Madonna, and a huge screen showcasing 90s classic films and VJ mash-ups.

Throughout the evening, partygoers can drink at one of the multiple cocktail flaring bars, challenge their highest score at Pacman, push it to Salt ‘n’ Pepa, get loaded to Primal Scream, or body pop to Run DMC as part of a 90s break dance stand-off. A hair and make-up stand will also be available, channelling some of the most famous looks of the decade.

Music throughout the evenings will be a mixtape of DJ classics, with tunes that suite any grunge groupie, pop princess, and hip-hop homie. Specially curated live music, including special guest headline acts from the decade will keep party people on the dance floor until the early hours. Cocktail experts, Bourne & Hollingsworth, will be taking guests on a trip down memory lane, rewriting history and putting a modern spin on the hazy recollections of frozen daiquiris, pina coladas, wibbles, and blue lagoons.

Guests are encouraged to dress for the part, channelling their inner grunge child, rock God, preppy freshman, low slung rap star or technicolour raver. Girls, choose plenty of lipliner, bindis, and your best slip dresses, bodysuits and high waisted denim. Guys, it’s all about flannel, ripped jeans, Adidas tracksuits, acid brights and bucket hats.

DSC_1041_865efc2eIs Friends still a thing? Has it been away long enough to come back now with full force as a 90s thing that's very much 'of the moment' again?

Well Tesco think so as they are recreating the Central Perk Cafe in their Kensington branch in conjunction with Cafepod coffee.

British coffee capsules brand CaféPod (www.cafepod.com) has partnered with Warner Brothers to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the iconic 90s TV show Friends.

Since Friends first hit TV screens on 22nd September 1994, the six New Yorkers’ lives and their memorable quotes have become intertwined with their favourite haunt, Central Perk and its legendary orange sofa, which truly brought coffee culture over to the UK.

To mark Friends officially hitting the big 2-0, CaféPod are embarking on a UK tour with the iconic Central Perk sofa, so fans of the show will be able to make like their favourite characters, lean back with a steaming cup of CaféPod and snap a selfie of themselves with a piece of televisual history.

Fans can shout about their Friends experience on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #Friends20th.  The sofa is already making waves, having made its way around Latitude Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Leeds Festival and it will be heading to Westfield Stratford Shopping Centre (23rd – 28th September), Tesco Kensington(11th October) and Waitrose Canary Wharf (23rd October) in the upcoming weeks.

CaféPod’s core range is also getting the Big Apple makeover, with the New York skyline adorning all five varieties, announcing the chance to win a fantastic trip to the home city of Friends - New York. This trip of a lifetime not only includes flights from London and three night hotel stay for two, it also comprises of a guided tour of Friends’ filming locations, including the iconic apartments lived in by Rachel, Monica, Joey and Chandler.  Entry to the competition is via: cafepod.com/friends until 31st January 2015.

Each variety of the CaféPod core range has also been assigned to the six cast members:

  • CaféPod Ristretto Espresso, with its full-bodied intensity and spicy finish is the first choice of everyone’s favourite stormy couple, Ross and Rachel.
  • CaféPod Intense Espresso naturally suits Chandler to a tee, the phrase “could I *be* more intense?” springs to mind.
  • CaféPod Smooth Espresso has Joey written all over it “How you doin’?” The epitome of Smooth!
  • Full of character, CaféPod Arabica Lungo Espresso is perfectly teamed with Monica’s light and lively nature.
  • Phoebe is best kept on the CaféPod Decaffeinated Espresso, a fittingly sweet and mellow coffee that packs a real punch.

Warner Brothers are also releasing a special edition Friends 20th Anniversary Box Set available for retail from 22nd September.  CaféPod are part of the occasion with 400,000 DVD inserts promoting its fantastic competition and offering a special 50p off packs of any CaféPod blend from Tesco, Waitrose or Whole Foods until the 31st March 2015.

It's strictly 90s - all the bar staff in their Fruit of the Loom sweaters and Chuck Taylor Converse. They've devised a special retro cocktail list, fusing childhood favourites such as Panda Pops, Um Bongo, Dr Pepper and Sunny Delight into alcoholic concoctions.

They'll also be making use of their nine HD screens and showing classic cartoons from the era, to totally help transform your mind back to a more innocent time.

There’s HUGE pizza slices for a Friday night treat too, to soak up all that fizzy booze. Expect guest DJs and no taste boundaries, the idea is to have as much fun as you did at youth club.
