W London – Leicester Square transforms its Rock ‘n’ Roll Afternoon Tea with a Host of Christmas Number Ones

As the days get colder and shorter W London in Leicester Square unveils a festive remix of its renowned Rock Tea to bring some festive cheer to Soho. The special menu, inspired by famous Christmas number one singles, will see W London serving up a seasonal twist on the classic British Afternoon Tea, from Friday 29th November until Christmas Eve.

All elements of the menu have been designed to add sparkle to the festive countdown, with every treat taking inspiration from past Christmas hits to tie in with the rock ‘n’ roll theme. The angelic indulgences include: All I Want For Christmas is Choux, a cream-filled choux pastry neatly wrapped in paper and tied with a ‘W’ ribbon; Rocking Around The Christmas Tree, a selection of red velvet and vanilla butter-cream cupcakes shaped as Christmas trees; Jingle Bell Rock, a rocky road cake topped with fluffy marshmallow and a sugar candy cane; Angels, a take on the Rock Tea’s original Cherry Bomb, decorated with silver meringue wings; and The Holly & The Ivy, a sweet jam-filled cookie dusted with glitter.

To accompany these festive fancies, a seasonally-inspired selection of sandwiches will be served, including turkey and cranberry, traditional roast beef, spicy butternut squash and luxurious smoked salmon. Afternoon Tea aficionados can rest assured that the W Rock Tea’s opulent English scones, served with fresh cream and jam, will also feature on the Christmas Rock Tea table.

As part of the festive transformation, W London has also created a menu of exclusive Christmas tipples, available from the W Lounge and its nightclub, Wyld. The Fairy Tale of New York blends raisin-infused BLOOM gin, with Chataigne liqueur, Grand Marnier, lemon juice and egg white; Let it Snow! is a rich combination of Johnny Walker Black, Mozart chocolate liqueur, sweet vermouth, and mandarin juice, topped with fresh chilli, and garnished with red currants and finally, the Santa (Teresa) Baby is made with Santa Teresa rum, Mozart chocolate liqueur, Chambord, cranberry juice and raspberry puree.
