While summer may have come to a close, Maryland rapper and GUMP-frontman Uno Hype recently delivered "Summer Fun", a track that is full of woozy vocal samples and bouncy percussion, guaranteed to get you moving. Yes the summer is over, but the latest from Hype will take you back to the hottest day of the year, perfect for those end of summer BBQ's, as you reminisce over the good times you've had the last few months. So get the drinks out and have one last dance before the sun goes down!
West London producer Sahil is set to come back this summer with a new album. Having made a solo debut with The Third Dimension last year, the young producer is getting ready for his second project, 207 LP. Teaming up with fellow west London producer Skit, the pair bring forward a trap-influenced banger also titled "207", which starts off on a smooth-sailing note, before switching things up for liftoff in the second half of the song. It's a track that has some watery undertones, creating a continuous build up before accelerating in to an electronic anthem towards the end.
It's a great first single to get things going, as Sahil gets ready to not only release his next single, but to also prep the release of his upcoming album, 207 LP.
There haven't been too many notable bands that have popped within Hop Hop, aside of The Roots and more recently BadBadNotGood, there aren't really any others who have made their way to the top or have created any sort of lasting impression. That's where GUMP come in, comprised of Uno Hype (lead vocalist), Zeeshan (drums), Ali (guitar/keys) and Joey (bass), the Maryland 4-piece have a unique edge to them, fusing hip hop with post rock & jazz.
Above is their first ever project. Titled Sleven, the EP is 6 tracks long and clocks just under 14 minutes. It's a great first introduction to the group, showcasing not only a strong sense of sound and individuality, but also potential. Featuring lead singles "Acorn" and "Rainwater", plus the recently released "Unusual", Sleven should be a favourite for those who enjoy hip hop with an alternative edge.
Give it a spin and let us know what you think!
Every now and then, it's refreshing to listen to a piece of music that consists of instrumentals only. Of course vocals help take a track to the next level and makes it relatable to everyone, however within the last couple of years, SoundCloud has become the platform for some very exciting producers and Sahil is one of the few that sure has the potential to seamlessly produce both an experimental sound, as well as taking the listener on a journey that provides an intriguing experience.
After a year's worth of work, the West London producer finally unveils his debut EP, The Third Dimension. The 6-track EP is a short, digestible listen that has plenty of peaks & troughs, blending ethereal soundscapes and eccentric drum patterns, with subtle vocal samples peppered throughout. Featuring the hard-hitting, Matrix-sampling single "I Feel It" and the equally exciting "Protocol", The Third Dimension is a project that serves as a gripping first introduction and should have you looking forward to what the producer has in store in the future.

Kindred was written by Passion Pit creative force and frontman Michael Angelakos and recorded in New York City. The album was produced by Angelakos alongside longtime collaborators and co-producers Chris Zane and Alex Aldi, as well as Benny Blanco.
Kindred follows Passion Pit’s 2012 hit Gossamer, which found the band selling out Madison Square Garden, appearing on “Saturday Night Live” and a special “Live on Letterman” performance, and playing at major festivals including Lollapalooza, Governors Ball, Outside Lands and more.
Angelakos’ songwriting process for Passion Pit has always been to filter and reshape. Many sounds on Kindred that one would assume are synths are Angelakos’ voice, manipulated by computers and pedals. Angelakos frequently repurposes sound: using top 40 signifiers for outré ends, crushing weird natural and synthetic detritus together into pop (Brent Katz, liner notes, 2015).
Angelakos’ recent collaborations include tracks with Skrillex and Madeon.
