We all take most of our clothes off when the sun comes out in London, in London parks especially, but a warning comes this morning as a woman was sexually assaulted over the weekend.
In a south London park the 21 year old was sun bathing with her iPod on when she was awoken by a sexual assault.
Met Police were called to the park at noon on Thursday, the BBC reported. The Police described the suspect as wearing a white T-shirt and tracksuit bottoms and being in his late-20s.
So the message here is that as the weather gets warmer and we all want to put a bit more flesh on show and lay about in public places – just be aware of what’s around you. Maybe it’s not the best idea to be plugged into your iPod with your eyes closed or be alone if you intend to do that. Much that same as if you were walking down a street at night or somewhere a little quiet – it’s always a good idea to have your wits about you in built up areas.
By no means are we suggesting that it is ok for someone to sexually assault someone because they are wearing fewer clothes or that people shouldn’t sunbath with a bikini on etc. People should be able to wear whatever they like and feel safe in a public place. Sadly we live in a world where there are some people that do bad things and all we wanted to convey in this piece was that you need to be aware of your surroundings – not what you wear. We apologise if anyone took anything else from this piece. We want to leave it up however because there was no bad intention or sexism meant (it was written by a female) and we still want people to be careful when out and about in the sun.
