This year to welcome the British summer, or at least make it feel a little closer to the Italian one, Battersea based Englishman's Italian Bar, Pizzeria and Karaoke, Bunga Bunga, will be launching Aperitivo Tuesdays.
A truly Italian tradition, “Aperitivo”, are drinks typically accompanied by a light snack served in bars after work and in the early evenings before dinner, “to open” one’s appetite. However, playing on this Italian concept but renowned for never doing things by halves, Uncle Berlusconi will be inviting his guests at Bunga Bunga to pop along for a a vast buffet of hot and cold delicacies, for only £7. The perfect way to stave of hunger till home time, or prime you for a delicioso pizza main.
Aperitivo Tuesdays will run weekly from 7-10pm, and will be hosted by the tantalising Taranta band, Amaraterra, as well as a selection of Italy’s other finest folk bands, that will be performing all sorts of southern classics through out the night, to set that summer feeling. The selection of mouthwatering snacks available will include antipasti, pizza slices, bruschetta and more - Che Buonissimo!
Bunga Bunga is owned and operated by The Inception Group, whose founders Charlie Gilkes and Duncan Stirling have also created Chelsea speakeasy Barts and 80’s themed nightclub Maggie’s. This summer they will also be launching Mr Fogg’s in Mayfair, a recreation of the actual home of Jules Verne’s most famous adventurer, Phileas Fogg, and Disco, an underground boîte in Soho, inspired by the disco movement, which started in 1970s Manhattan.
So, for some Pecorino with your Prosecco, or Mozzarella with your Martini then head to Bunga Bunga.
