We have a little tip for you - if you keep your eyes open down Bury Street you will spot a golden Q on door number 16 - easy to miss but a shame if you did - this is Quaglinos and they are currently serving a pretty mega afternoon tea.
Available from 5th May – 26th August, this new afternoon tea is a welcome celebration to London’s warming weather (not totally here yet but well on it's way we are assured), with beautiful blooms full of fresh and vibrant notes featuring throughout the delectable cakes and pastries. From perfectly sculpted edible flowers, to tiny peek a boo carrots in a pot, Quaglino’s new spring Afternoon Tea will tickle your tastebuds and have you reaching to snap on instagram - we certainly were.
Sandwiches are packed with classic fillings (Prawn cocktail baby gem leaf, Chicken & basil on white bread), but high-tea aficionados can also sample savoury twists such as Smoked salmon Rosti and Egg & baby cress on disc brioche toast. Flower-themed sweets include Lemon & Lavender Macaroon, Carrot cake pot, candied baby carrot, Meringue Mushroom Rhubarb and rose opera cake Strawberry and white chocolate cheesecake tart. Freshly baked basil chamomile scones are served warm with strawberry jam and clotted cream.
